Lesson
Introduction (5 minutes)
Friendly Competition
Set-up
- As students enter place them onto two different "Archeology Teams" give a minute or so for each team to come up with a name.
- Sand container with "artifacts"
Activity
- Tell students something like the following. We often think of archeology as finding documents or swords, or buildings. But a lot of archeology is finding old garbage. In fact, some of the most useful archeological sites have been town garbage pits.
- Teams race to the sand container and find an artifact then race back.
- The team which finds an artifact for every player first wins.
Preview (5 minutes)
- Read the following verses and ask students something like "how would you feel if you knew this was going to happen to you?" "Would you try to change the future?"

Body (8 minutes)
- Tell the story of the last supper, betrayal, and trial in your own words but on occasion reading specific passages from Scripture. Key texts are suggested.
- John 9:1
- John 9:6-11
- John 9:15-16

Verse (5 Minutes)
- The verse to work on is Jeremiah 29:13.
- You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. NIV
