Joshua 1:1-9 Leadership
Leadership
- Who do you consider to be the greatest leader?
- What was it that allowed that individual to be such a great leader?
- What are the characteristics that society identifies in a good leader?
The Background
In this lesson series we will be looking at the book of Joshua. Before looking at Joshua it is important that we first establish some background.
- Who had led the Israelites out of Egypt and during their time in the wilderness?
- Why was Moses prevented from entering the promised land (Numbers 20:1-13)?
- What event took place in Deuteronomy 34:1-8?
- Who succeeded Moses as the new leader of the Israelites (Deuteronomy 34:9-12)?
Thinking
- If God is merciful, why do you think He punished Moses so severely?
- What challenges do you think Joshua faced as the new leader of Israel?
- What challenges would the people of Israel face as they entered the promised land?
