Apart from Christ, God is beyond our capacity to look upon.
God is holy and as such completely separate from us (1 Timothy 6:16)
who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
We are incapable of looking upon God (Exodus 33:20).
But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”
But through Christ we have the opportunity to see the un-seeable (Col 1:15)
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
