Joshua 5:13-15; 6 Directions

  • What is the hardest set of directions you have ever had to follow? What made them so hard.

The Background

  • What are some historical battle strategies that proved to be key steps to victory?

Exodus 17:8-16 describes an important victory Israel had over the Amalekites.

  • Who was selected to lead the people of Israel into battle (hint: it was not Moses)?

  • What was Moses tasked with doing while Israel was in battle?

  • Do you think someone in the position of Moses might ever feel sidelined in this position?

  • In Joshua 6, God gives Joshua some unique battle plans, but given what Joshua had already experienced in God's victories, how should Joshua have reacted to God's battle plan?

Thinking

  • What are some examples of New Testament directions that, at least on the surface, seem illogical?
